If you’ve been down to Close Park recently, the home of Radcliffe Borough Juniors, you’ve probably noticed metal fences, machinery and a mound of mud on the football fields. Don’t panic, there’s nothing to worry about.
So what’s actually happening?
New flood defences are being installed on Close Park to protect houses and businesses in the surrounding areas.
A 2.5m flood wall is being built at the rear of properties and a 3m-high earth embankment is being created around the park which will run in front of the club house.
What does that mean for Radcliffe Borough Juniors?
It did come to our attention that people thought we were closing the club, however we would like to reassure you that this is and never was the case.
Training will run throughout the summer and the season will start as normal in September (weather permitting, of course!)
We’ve worked with contractors and the council to ensure the best for the football club, the children and everyone involved with Radcliffe Borough Juniors. From this, we’ll have an even better club house and much improved drainage.
The future of Radcliffe Borough Juniors Football Club could not be stronger.
